Panola Unlimited

Panola Mountain State Park - Stockbridge, GA

Wear your hiking boots, pack a lunch and bring plenty of water for a rigorous half-day, ranger-led hike through Panola's rugged conservation area. Meet at the Nature Center 15 minutes before hike departs. Ages 10 and older. Register in advance. $10 plus $5 parking. 770-389-7801.

This is the perfect cave tour for beginners who are unsure of the underground environment. Guides will direct you through a crawl space, direct your attention to cave formations and cave critters, and walk with you in an underground river. Ages 6 and up. Nighttime Lunar Sky Watch Program

Crooked River State Park - St. Marys, GA

Join avid astronomers and their "very serious telescopes" for an evening of viewing the moon's surface. This up-close tour of the 28% illuminated waxing (growing) moon also includes cloud-belts of Jupiter and its Galilean moons, star patterns called asterisms and The Great Orion Nebula. Candle Light Hike to the Mill

Sweetwater Creek State Park - Lithia Springs, GA

This mile-long guided night hike is easy to moderately difficult and goes inside the Civil War era textile mill ruins of New Manchester. Candle lanterns will be provided. No children under 6 years or dogs permitted. Space is limited and is on a first-come first-serve basis. Meet and register at the Interpretive Center. $5 plus $5 parking. 770-732-5871.

Library ParkPass Loan Program
Georgia's public libraries are making it easier than ever for patrons to broaden their horizons outdoors as well as indoors. As part of the "Get Outdoors Georgia" campaign, a valid library card now allows patrons to borrow a Georgia State "ParkPass" and Historic Site pass from their local libraries.
