
John Tanner State Park

It is a recreational haven for water lovers looking for boating and fishing excitement. Visitors can enjoy camping, picnicking, miniature golf and horseshoes. Hikers can take a 3/4 mile nature trail or the 1-mile lake loop for a scenic stroll.
Two lakes are 12-acres and 16-acres respectively. Boaters are limited to electronic motors only and private boats are permitted. Pedal boats and fishing boats can be rented seasonally for hours of fun!
Anglers can choose from a 12-acre or 16-acre lake. Fishing boats are available for rent.
The lakeside beach at John Tanner State Park is the largest of any park in Georgia. Bring some healthy snacks and stay the day!
The park has a miniature golf course for family fun!

Programs at John Tanner State Park

A new GO Georgia badge has been added to the successful Junior Ranger Program. Kids ages 7 - 14 choose from a list of activities to earn their Gopher badge. The younger ones, ages 7 - 10 must complete 5 activities while those in the older group, ages 11 - 14 must work toward completing 8 activities.
