Fort McAllister Historic Park
Witness one of the sturdiest forts of the Confederacy. Attacked seven times by Union inronclads, this park is home to the best-preserved earthwork fortification of the Confederacy. This is the site of General Sherman's march to the sea. Nestled among giant live oaks and beautiful salt marshes, this park is a quiet location for camping, hiking, fishing and picnicking. So get out and take hike back in time.
